Flight options

There are 3 airports we typically consider when traveling to and from Winston-Salem:

  1. Greensboro (PTI), at roughly a 30 minute drive from town, is the closest option. Though, you may have to catch a connecting flight or pay a little bit extra.

  2. Charlotte (CLT) is 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car, but should have plenty of direct flights from cities around the country. This is the airport we’ve flown out of most. This is also an American Airlines hub, so it may be limited.

  3. Raleigh-Durham (RDU) is 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car, making this the furthest option from Winston-Salem, but will have the most direct flights from cities across the country.

Getting to and around Winston

As terrible as it is, renting a car or carpooling with someone that has a car will be the best way of traveling to and from Winston-Salem, as well as getting around town once you’ve arrived.

If you choose to go without a car, it is possible to Uber around town.
